first_imgFellowship, dancing and prizes were just a few things senior citizens looked forward to today at the annual Senior Appreciation Day.Senior citizens from all over Alabama got together at the Bryant Conference Center for the special day. The theme of this year’s event is “Connect, Create, Contribute.” Activities for the event started at 9 a.m. and continued until 1:30 p.m. and included prizes for The Price is Right, dancing and catching up with old friends and family. The event was free to the public and lunch was provided, as well.“All my cousins live in Tuscaloosa and I have cousins that are from Green County and from Dale County, so when we get here and we greet each other it is a happy occasion and just to look out over the crows and see so many seniors all over west Alabama, that is amazing,” attendee Ida Edwards said. For more information about Senior Appreciation Day, visit www.westalabamaaging.org.last_img read more
