The Sr. Research ProgramCoordinator is responsible for participant recruitment andinterviews, advisory board development, liaising with communitypartners, conduct and maintenance, organization, entry, maintenanceand accuracy of research data, assistance with qualitative dataanalysis, expenditure oversight, and communicating with teammembers on the status of the project(s). Assist with orientation ofless senior research staff in protocol and clinical researchinformation.Specific Duties &ResponsibilitiesPrepare submissionsfor the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and follow submissionsthrough the iterative review process untilapproved.Administer the logistical implementation ofassigned projects and identify situations requiring specialattention. Ensure adherence to research protocols, operatingprocedures and all associated internal/externalregulations.Assist in accessing secondary data sources,developing protocol-specific data collection and case report forms,and may also assist less experienced staff in design and creationof such forms.Assist the principal investigator and/or programmanager in defining information and plans required to accomplishgoals of studies, and make needed adjustments to accomplishgoals.Participate in meetings to provide operationalupdates, report on any operational issues, and may makerecommendations for resolution to new/outstanding operationalissues. May assist in coordinating study meetings which may includeassisting in developing an agenda and coordinating informationand/or participation of individuals from other institutions and/oruniversities, and communitypartners.Assist in the recruitment and conduct of anadvisory board consisting of subject matter experts, communitymembers (including monolingual Spanish-speaking participants), andclinicians, including through the use of videoconferencingtechnology.Contact potential study participants. May act asprimary contact for study participants, which may includingscheduling, confirming appointments, andconsenting.Assist with writing manuscripts, grants, whitepapers and other policy documents and grant-relatedreports.Support participant outreach and programmaticefforts.Assist with qualitative research conduct (e.g.,interviews and focus groups) andanalysis.Meet regularly with Principal Investigator toreview data accuracy and overall studyprogress.Develop and maintain a protocol database orspreadsheet for tracking participant activity, financial managementand data analysis asneeded.Prepare for and participate in monitoring andaudits of studies. Digicel, GFSCA team up for softball tournament … Event dubbed ‘triple treat’

first_imgSOFTBALL fans will have a chance to get in on the action as mobile service providers Digicel launched its Triple Treat Softball and Duck Curry competition yesterday at its Kingston head office.The softball tournament, which will bowl off on March 5 at the Perseverance beach ground, will conclude on April 1 at the Anna Regina Community Centre ground with three events, according to Digicel’s Communications Manager Vidya Sanichara.Registration for the tournament commences today and will conclude on February 28 with the tournament hosting a total of 24 teams and, according to Sanichara, “It is to create an ideal atmosphere for families.”Digicel’s Retail Sales Manager, Richard Das, took the opportunity to invite all the teams, who had participated last year, to register again. He said that following the March 5 bowl-off of the tournament, the competition continues every weekend leading up to the final at the Anna Regina ground.Das said the draw for the fixtures will be held on March 4 at the Speed Talk Mobile, which is the Anna Regina Digicel store.The softball aspect will be held under the auspices of the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA), whose president Ramchand Ragbeer expressed pleasure at being associated with Digicel and the residents of the Essequibo Coast.Apart from softball cricket, there will be Duck Curry competition and Stage Show to give persons the ‘three times the fun’.It is the second edition of the event.last_img read more

Runner proposes to girlfriend at the finish line of the Great North Run.

first_imgThere was love in the air as New Zealander, Jake Robertson went down on one knee to declare his undying love to Kenyan girlfriend and fellow runner, Magdalyne Masai at the finish line of the Great North Run half marathon in Newcastle. Robertson had just finished the race six seconds behind Olympic legend, Mo Farah.23-year-old Masai who has finished fourth in the women’s race, approached her boyfriend of six years to congratulate him but was left stunned by his sudden romantic gesture as he asked her to be his wife. The crowd cheered as she gladly accepted.Speaking with the media, Jake Robertson (27) said: “I didn’t have it planned or anything. In the last mile it just randomly came to my mind that today was the day. Six years together and I thought it was due time.
